ProPublica Is Hiring a Health Care Reporting Fellow

We are looking for a reporting fellow to work in our newsroom on health care stories this summer. The fellowship is for nine weeks, with a flexible start and end date. It’s full time, based in New York, and compensation is $700 per week.  Fellows will work primarily with senior reporter Charles Ornstein, who covers health care and the pharmaceutical industry.

We’re looking for somebody who has done reporting, and loves doing it. Data experience is a plus, too. You will work on stories like this and this and this.

Reporting fellows at ProPublica have gone on to work at The New York Times, Bloomberg, Politico, NPR, Center for Public Integrity and the Chicago Tribune.

If you would like to apply, fill out the form below. For writing samples, please send us stories that highlight your best hard-hitting reporting. That is, stories that dig something up and hold people or institutions accountable. If you have one, please also include an explainer-type post that helps guide readers through an accountability topic in the news or a health topic in the news. You can read a few examples here, here, and here. Please explain your experience with health reporting and data analysis.

We are committed to diversity and building an inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds. Everyone is encouraged to apply, including women, LGBTQ people, people of color, and people with disabilities.
