Have You Ever Filed a Complaint Against a Chicago Police Officer? Tell Us What Happened.

There may be information about your case you’re unaware of.

We recently found that police disciplinary officials lost track of cases in which Chicago cops should have been punished for misconduct.

We also know that citizens who file complaints about the police can be left in the dark about how the cases end. Although the Civilian Office of Police Accountability is boosting its efforts to update citizens on the status of cases — including releasing a database on individual cases and sending letters to complainants throughout the process — sometimes information is missing or there’s more to the story.

So, if you or someone you know has filed a complaint against a Chicago police officer, we may be able to help you learn about your case.

By submitting your story and information about your complaint, you’ll also be helping us understand how the disciplinary process plays out.

You will need the log number of your complaint handy. If you do not know your log number, we can help you find it (instructions specified in the form below).
